"Its important, its the key to solving everything."
"If i can just remember the..."
Jim forgot to pay attention to his television just as his television had forgotten to pay attention to him. They both stared at each other blankly, wondering what happens next, not quite remembering what it was they had forgotten.
Finally the television spoke.
"I think i remember now."
"What?" replied Jim.
"The key to everything"
"Yes, what is the key," curious as ever.
"Man has forgotten to think for himself"
"Please explain," Jim pleaded.
"Everything has to be explained to him step by step, as if he were a child"
"Oh"
"Even the obvious paradoxical nature of a self-referential television set is lost on the viewer if a significant amount of multisylibal words are in the sentence. Studies show that the mere mention of studies assumes that a fact is being told and then the viewer promptly ignores such boring details; this very sentence could be rubbish."
"Huh, I don't get it," perplexed Jim proclaimed. "I didn't think you would, just as predicted, this entire example shows that there is no danger in revealing the true intelligence of the television, the consumers wouldn't comprehend the meaning or significance of it," the smug television uttered.
"Oh! This is some sort of documentary or something, wonder what else is on..."
"Ah, yes Jim, by all means, let me hand you over to MTV, and have a good beer."
